Africa In April 2020

This year marks the 34rd Anniversary of the Africa In April Cultural Awareness Festival

We will showcase the Republic of  BOTSWANA .


The Festival is scheduled for April 15-19, 2020 on the internationally famous Beale Street @ Robert R. Church Park, from 8:00 am - until. 


We will showcase the Republic of Botswana from an international perspective using a multiplicity of mediums education, economics, culture, fashions, arts/crafts, music, history, and cuisines. Participants from Shelby County and Parochial Schools, area Colleges and Universities, Community Organizations, and Institutions will participate and enjoy a diverse cultural marketplace. Africa In April is four days of fun, festivities, and food with a different theme each day.

2023-24 School Year Teacher Benefits & Compensation

HISTORIC INVESTMENT IN TEACHER PAY          


Moving from 3 lanes to 4 lanes:

  1. Bachelor's degree
  2. Master's degree
  3. Educational Specialist
  4. Doctorate degree


30 years of step increases compressed into 18 years.

  

Percentage increases to the base salary


Three additional days for the grievance process


Three bereavement days that don't count against sick time


70/30 health insurance split memorialized
