Jolie Madihalli is President of the Memphis-Shelby County Education Association. She previously served two terms as Secretary on the Board of Directors. She has been a kindergarten teacher with the District, and most recently has been a Literacy Instructional Advisor. Jolie has worked in the education field for 20 years, beginning as an Education Support Professional (ESP) in Wisconsin. While working as an ESP, Jolie realized the impact that effective teachers have on the lives of children. She decided to change her career path and continued her education to become a teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools. Jolie received her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin, and is currently a doctoral student at the University of Memphis. Upon moving to Memphis, she immediately joined the Association and became an active member by serving as an Association Representative, and on various committees. She has also been an active member of the Memphis-Shelby County Political Action Committee for Education. Jolie has a passion for supporting teachers to ensure student success, which is the ultimate goal of education.
