Executive Assistant to 13 Presidents and 3 Executive Directors
(1995- 2021)
MEMORANDUM
DATE: February 8, 2021
TO: MSCEA Members
FROM: Keith Williams, Executive Director
It is with great sadness that I inform our members, friends, and retirees of The Memphis Education Association and The Memphis Shelby County Education Association, of the sudden passing of Mrs. Marilyn Burose Wilkins. She served as Business Manager for our Association for the past 40 years and was recognized for her indelible service in October of 2020. Marilyn was an exemplary business manager and a true professional, who exuded the highest integrity and character in all of her deportments and service to this association. We, who are left behind to complete life’s journey, take great comfort in knowing that our friend, Marilyn Burose Wilkins, lived an exemplary life and prepared for this day. She embraced William Cullen Bryant’s Thanatopsis:
So live, that when thy summons comes to join
The innumerable caravan, which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave,
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.
Don't forget YOUR checkup!
M-SCEA President
Dr. Anntriniece Napper
What a GREAT Leader!
Keith Williams, M-SCEA Executive Director
